Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains how The Tavern & Inn Company Ltd looks after the personal information you share with us — through this website, when you book at The Gunmakers Arms, or when you sign up for our emails — and the rights you have over it.

Who we are

This website is operated by The Tavern & Inn Company Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England & Wales (company number 16836738), registered office 39 Foley Street, London W1W 7TP. We are the data controller for the information described here. For anything to do with your data, contact us at operations@ttic.co.uk.

The short version

This is a simple brochure website. It does not run advertising or analytics tracking, and we do not sell your data to anyone. The only personal information we hold is what you choose to send us — for example, when you book a table, send us an enquiry or sign up for our emails — and the pub’s booking records described below.

What we collect

How and why we use it

We use your information to reply to you, to handle bookings and enquiries, and to keep the website secure and working. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running the business and responding to you, and — where relevant — taking steps at your request before entering into any arrangement.

Marketing emails

We only send you news and offers by email if you have said yes — by ticking a box that we haven’t ticked for you, or by asking us directly. We record when and how you said yes and what you agreed to, and we never pass your details to other businesses for their marketing. Our lawful basis is your consent.

Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link, or you can email operations@ttic.co.uk at any time. Once you unsubscribe, we keep a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address on a “do not email” list so we don’t contact you again by mistake. Unsubscribing doesn’t affect messages about a booking you’ve made.

Bookings made before October 2026

Before October 2026, The Gunmakers Arms took bookings through a different system, SevenRooms. When the pub moved to our booking system, we received the details of bookings still to come, so they could be honoured, and a copy of the pub’s past booking records. We use these to run the pub, not to send marketing: if you agreed to emails through the old system, we won’t send you news or offers unless you confirm with us that you’d like them. To see what we hold about you, or to ask us to delete it, email operations@ttic.co.uk.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the website, our bookings and our emails (for example, our hosting and email providers, who also host our guest database, our booking system Collins by DesignMyNight, and EmailJS, which delivers enquiries sent from this website), and only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies

This site uses only essential cookies needed for it to function. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it — for example, enquiry correspondence is kept while it is relevant and then deleted. Server logs are retained for a short period by our host for security. Marketing sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only the hashed “do not email” entry. Booking records are kept only as long as we need them to run the pub and deal with any queries.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability. You can object to marketing at any time, and we’ll stop. To exercise any of these, email operations@ttic.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised date above.
